No Fault Divorce

We provide you with support and guidance through your divorce or dissolution of your civil partnership.

From 6 April 2022 it will be possible to initiate a divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership without there being any requirement to blame the other party (by alleging adultery or unreasonable behaviour), and without the need for you to wait to have been separated for two years or more. This is known as ‘no fault’ divorce.

It will now just be necessary for the applicant or applicants to confirm that the marriage or civil partnership has broken down irretrievably.

From 6 April 2022 it will also be possible for a couple to jointly apply for a divorce or dissolution.

You can read our complete guide on no-fault divorce here.
