Andreas Petrou

Andreas is a Solicitor in our commercial and intellectual property team.

He specialises in commercial contract matters and procurement, while also leading our games and interactive entertainment team

Andreas advises on a wide range of commercial and contract matters including supply, manufacturing and outsourcing agreements, grant funding agreements, agency and distribution agreements, terms and conditions, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), software development, licence and publishing agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, end-user licence agreements (EULAs) and other specific and bespoke agreements. He also assists clients with the acquisition, protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights.

Andreas acts for technology companies and those that procure technology services across all manner of products and services. He has a special interest in video games and esports, leading our initiatives in these areas. He also works with a range of other clients across both the public and private sectors, including in local governmentreal estatemanufacturing and supply chain and housing and regeneration.

A member of our procurement team, Andreas advises both contracting authorities and bidders on public procurement and general contracting requirements, as well as grant funding and other bespoke requirements for land development and infrastructure projects. He is familiar with many areas of public law, public body governance and decision making.

Prior to joining Brabners, Andreas worked as a real estate lawyer — advising major public and private sector clients at a top-tier national and international practice — before moving in-house to the real estate team at a local authority, where he specialised in town centre regeneration. Here, he advised a range of stakeholders, leading key projects and advising on significant land and infrastructure projects. These experiences gave him an acute understanding of the motivators, pressures, constraints and concerns facing in-house teams when instructing external advisors.

Andreas also has a background in life sciences, having obtained a joint honours degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology at The University of Manchester prior to studying law.

Andreas joined us in 2022 and qualified in 2014. He is based in our Manchester office.
