Daniel is a Legal Director in our corporate team.

He also leads our breweries and beverages team.

Dan acts on complex and high value corporate acquisitions and disposals, shareholder agreements, governance arrangements and joint ventures, as well as group restructures and demergers.

He also regularly advises on third-party capital investments — from both the business and investor sides — concerning venture capital, private equity, SEIS/EIS, angel investment and crowdfunding arrangements.

Dan has acted on transactions with a cumulative value in excess of £1bn. Noteworthy deals include the management buy-out of Vivup by Omni Partners LLP, the investment by Gresham House into Airfinity Limited and the acquisition by Suez Recycling and Recovery UK Limited of F&R Cawley Limited.

Over the past decade, Dan has become a recognised expert in helping businesses and founders to transition to employee ownership. He’s now an active contributor to the Employee Ownership Association (EOA), with which we hold specialist adviser status.

Dan represents a variety of entrepreneurial founders and businesses across the technology, professional services, recruitment, automotive, retail and hospitality sectors. His key clients include The Supply Register and Change8.

He’s also an expert in advising breweries and beverage manufacturers on their legal requirements, with notable clients including Mash Gang and Ilkley Brewery. He oversees our memberships of the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates of London Brewing Alliance and regularly attends their meetings and events. He also regularly writes for industry publications such as SIBA Insider Magazine, Brewers Journal, Beer Today and Low No Drinker.

Dan provides straightforward and commercially focused advice that allows founders to make important decisions with clarity and a full appreciation of the factors at play. He approaches transactions collaboratively and pragmatically, ensuring that his clients’ end-goals are achieved with the least resistance and an efficient legal process.

Dan always looks to understand the key drivers and ambitions of his clients — whether that be short term in the context of a specific transaction or funding event, or longer term for eventual exit or realisation. This ensures that he can provide legal and commercial advice that’s specifically tailored to their requirements and approach to risk.

Dan lived in Taiwan for 18 months between signing his training contract in 2012 and joining us in 2014. There, he taught English to children of all ages and made the most of this opportunity to travel the Far East.

Dan joined us in September 2014 and is based in our Manchester office.

Daniel Finn and the team at Brabners provided exceptional guidance and support throughout the process of closing our first investment round. Daniel's deep expertise in venture financing was evident at every step. He skillfully navigated the complexities of the transaction, provided pragmatic advice to protect our interests and worked tirelessly to drive the deal to a successful close. Daniel was highly responsive and an effective and trusted advisor. We look forward to continuing to work with Brabners as our company grows.
