You may be seeking representation to claim against a healthcare provider or professional. This could include an NHS trust, private medical facility, care home, GP, doctor, surgeon, dentist, pharmacist or optician.
We’re one of the largest and most experienced firms in the North with a strong track record in helping victims and their families with all types of medical negligence cases.
This includes claims following:
- Birth-related injuries — during pregnancy, labour and delivery, injuries can occur to the mother or baby, with potential to cause long-term or permanent damage.
- Brain injuries — diagnosis errors, treatment delays, lack of oxygen, negligent surgery or undiagnosed brain tumours can amount to negligence.
- Cancer treatment — this may include delayed diagnoses of various cancers including bowel and rectal cancers, oesophageal cancers, sarcomas, carcinomas and many more. If you feel that potential symptoms which were suggestive of cancers were inadequately or incorrect investigated or you believe that there were opportunities to diagnose you sooner, please get in touch with us.
- Medication errors — negligence can include being prescribed the wrong medication, receiving incorrect dosage instructions or failing to consider adverse reactions.
- Misdiagnosis — Incorrect, missed or a delay in diagnosis can occur in relation to many conditions, such as cancer, diabetes, strokes and meningitis.
- Pressure sores — often caused by failure to conduct adequate and correct risk assessments, failure to recognise and treat the early signs of skin damage and inadequate use of or failure to use appropriate equipment to reduce the risk of skin damage.
- Spinal injuries — Sub-standard surgery, failure to diagnose medical conditions or failure to gain informed consent can cause or exacerbate spinal cord injuries.
- Surgical errors — Wrong-site surgery, anaesthetic errors, foreign objects in the body and nerve damage are a few examples that can amount to surgical negligence.
Your negligent care could also relate to gynaecology, orthopaedics or something else. Additional issues may involve a failure to obtain informed consent or to refer or follow up.
If you’ve sadly lost a loved one as a result of negligent medical treatment or care, we can help too.

How our medical negligence team works
If something has gone wrong with your medical treatment, pursuing a compensation claim can result in much-needed financial security as well as a priceless sense of justice.
However, we know that this can be a daunting process. After you contact us, we’ll arrange a free initial consultation to explain how the process will work and the funding methods available.
Firstly, we’ll work closely with you to ensure that you’re getting the best support and rehabilitation in the aftermath of your injury. Then, we’ll help you to navigate the legal process.
We’ll sensitively look at your case to determine its strength. Most claims we investigate are pursued under a ‘no win, no fee’ agreement, so you won’t need to pay anything upfront.
Our team only handles a limited number of cases at one time — meaning that yours will receive the full attention it deserves. Our aim is to guide, encourage and empower you throughout the entire process.
