A settlement agreement is a legally binding contract between an employer and employee, usually offered by employers wishing to terminate an employee’s employment.
Settlement agreements typically involve waiving employment claims in exchange for financial compensation and/or other benefits. For these agreements to be valid, you must have received independent legal advice.
We can help. Our nationally recognised team comprises some of the country’s best regarded employment law specialists.
We routinely provide clear, pragmatic advice on settlement agreements and exit packages to clients across the private and public sectors.
We have particular experience in advising directors, executives and other senior professionals. In these instances, agreements can have significant financial elements and complex terms — often referred to as executive severance.
Leaving a role is never easy, but we’re here to smooth the process. Whether you’re facing a dispute, dismissal or planning an exit, we’re here to help you move forward with confidence.
