Simon Morris

Simon is a Legal Director in our Litigation team.

Simon is an experienced litigator who specialises in various aspects of commercial and private client work for individuals and private sector companies.

He handles commercial and civil disputes such as breach of contract and warranty claims, tortious claims, shareholder and director disputes, professional negligence and Companies Act proceedings including unfair prejudice petitions and cases involving both urgent injunctions and freezing orders.

Simon acts for a wide variety of clients including private individuals and organisations. He also represents witnesses and core participants in Public Inquiries.

He also advises on chancery work, the contestation of wills, claims relating to the administration of estates (including the removal of rogue executors) and various contentious probate and trust cases including claims made under the Inheritance Act (provision for family and dependants) 1975.

Simon has a strong background in contentious matters and has resolved many notable cases including Digital Satellite Warranty Cover Ltd v Financial Services Authority 1 WLR 605 (Supreme Court) and complex claims in the administration of estates exceeding £5m in value.

He also operates and maintains our probate, trust and inheritance law online information portal.

He is classed a ‘Recommended Individual’ and ‘Leading Lawyer’ in The Legal 500 which notes that Simon has a “very sound grasp of very complex and convoluted facts together with a good knowledge of the applicable legal principles”.

Simon joined us in 2010 and is based in our Liverpool office.
