Matt Brown - Commercial law

Matt is a partner in our Liverpool Commercial Law team.

Matt is a member of our Manufacturing and Supply Chain sector and a highly experienced commercial lawyer who helps clients balance legal risks whilst seizing business growth opportunities.

Matt is an expert in data protection matters and regularly covers different aspects of the legislation with clients and at other events. He is our key spokesperson on the issue and contributes to articles on the subject. He also specialises in various commercial issues such as complex IT projects, outsourcing, distribution, franchising, collaborations, joint ventures and other trading agreements.

He is also well known for his expertise in e-commerce and competition law and advises clients in sectors as diverse as logistics, retail, technology, sport and healthcare.

Matt has a strong background in non-contentious intellectual property law and is experienced in dealing with issues associated with the creation and deployment of intellectual property such as patents, software and trade mark licenses, as well as research and development agreements.

He is classed as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by The Legal 500 which notes that he “understands the need for balanced/risk-based advice”.
