COVID-19's impact on dental treatment

Thursday 10 February 2022

The British Dental Association (BDA) has reported that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic over 40 million courses of dental treatment have been missed.

The figures are staggering, especially given the hard work and dedication of the dentists in the past 24 months. However, the true problem is unfortunately greater that then situation would have you believe.

What is more likely to have been missed is the treatment for the patient who is not yet in pain. The uncomplicated check up which sorts a problem before it ever really becomes an issue. The lack of preventative dental work really means that what we have waiting is patients whose clinical issues are more complicated and time consuming to resolve than they ever might have been.

For our clients the issue is becoming less about fallow times and COVID-19 procedures, and more about finding and recruiting sufficient staff to ensure that their practice can meet the demand that we all know is there.

Our Healthcare team is experienced in providing advice and assistance to dentists looking to recruit from overseas and the demand has never been higher. We are also able to provide advice through our network of trusted industry experts for practices struggling to reach their new higher targets.
