Tom is a Legal Director in our real estate development team.
Experienced in a range of non-contentious commercial property matters, Tom has been advising developers of institutional, large and small scale, property portfolio owners, SMEs, landlord and tenant matters, transactions relating to development funding and more since he joined Brabners in 2016. He also advises on matters such as leasehold transactions, corporate acquisitions and insolvency practitioners’ disposals.
Tom has acted on behalf of recognisable developments in the North including acting for Manchester Airport in relation to the development of the largest Premier Inn in the North of England and in various acquisitions at different levels for Arnold Cark Automobiles Limited from both Wingrove Group and Renault Retail Group.
Another of Tom’s key clients includes Muse Places, a national developer with ambitious sustainability targets. As well as Mealbank Properties and Alfa Travel, an employee-owned business.
Tom prides himself on his responsiveness to clients and exceeds expectations to get transactions completed. His meticulous approach to his work has cultivated longstanding relationships with several returning clients.
Although primarily based in Brabners’ Manchester office, Tom is also a member of the Junior Board of the Association of European Lawyers, a group of European law firms who work together on cross-border transactions and other multi-jurisdictional casework.
Following in the footsteps of his parents who were both solicitors, Tom has an appreciation and interest in the history of places and the way towns and cities have evolved. This interest helped him navigate his way into development law, and now with a particular interest in regeneration.
Tom moved to the Real Estate Team at Brabners on qualification. Originally, he studied politics at university and then converted to law shortly after graduating. To keep an even keel, Tom has spent the last decade running around 40k a week.
