An experienced corporate lawyer, Ruth handles a wide range of corporate transactions and advises on a broad variety of commercial matters. She deals with issues such as company and business acquisitions and disposals as well as investment and fundraising, MBOs, joint ventures and shareholder agreements.
Having previously worked in-house for a highly acquisitive global technology company, Ruth has seen how acquisitions work from both sides of the deal. She now uses this experience to guide technology clients through their own growth journeys — whether an investment round, acquisition or exit — avoiding the pitfalls and acting as a trusted advisor throughout what can be an extensive and highly complex process.
Ruth is heavily involved in our sports sector team and leads our national governing bodies (NGBs) group, which supports, guides and advises across the full breadth of day-to-day legal challenges and strategic opportunities including major event planning, Olympic and Paralympic cycles and associated funding schedules.
With well over a decade’s experience in working closely with NGBs, Ruth primarily advises on constitutional and corporate governance matters but also supports a range of sports clients on acquisitions, mergers, disposals and investments.
Ruth is based in our Manchester office.
