Jennifer is a Partner in our Insolvency and Restructuring team.
Jennifer is an experienced insolvency lawyer who provides a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious advice, both personal and corporate on all aspects of insolvency, to a national client base.
She specialises in all aspects of insolvency and has been involved in several complex corporate insolvency cases involving directors’ misfeasance, fraudulent and wrongful trading, preferences, transaction at an undervalue, transactions to defraud creditors and the payment of unlawful dividends.
Jennifer is also experienced in personal insolvency, advising her national client base on all aspects of antecedent transactions and enforcement. She has an excellent track record in the recovery of assets which have been wrongfully appropriated or distributed and has been involved in several cases which have involved search and seizure orders, worldwide freezing orders and recovery of assets abroad.
She has over 17 years’ experience of advising clients in the meat industry. Assisting clients faced with Regulatory enforcement action brought by industry bodies such as the Department of Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Food Standard Agency (FSA), Local Councils and Trading Standards. Jennifer understands the unique complexities of Regulatory enforcement and can guide you through these extremely stressful enforcement actions, from the early interview stage all the way through to criminal prosecutions.
In addition, Jennifer acts for directors in defence of directors’ disqualification proceedings, misfeasance and breach of duties claims.
She is recognised as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ by the Legal 500.
Jennifer’s clients include large international insolvency practitioners such as Grant Thornton, KPMG Duff and Phelps, Smith and Williamson and Mazars; mid-tier clients such as Begbies Traynor, Opus, Smith and Williamson and CVR Global LLP along with smaller boutique insolvency practitioners.
Jennifer joined us in September 2020 and works across our Liverpool, Manchester and Preston offices.
