An experienced property lawyer, Helen is a trusted advisor on real estate acquisitions and disposals, development agreements and complex conditional contracts for registered providers of social housing, property developers and investors.
She’s recognised by The Legal 500 as a 'Recommended Lawyer' and a significant part of her work involves residential developments and the provision of affordable housing — something that’s fundamental to the regeneration of our towns, cities and communities, as well as the creation of thriving new places.
Helen specialises in residential development transactions for registered providers where there are often multiple stakeholders involved, including funders, local authorities and housebuilders. As such, Helen understands principles and risks from different perspectives, enabling her to negotiate effectively and achieve results that work for all parties.
Since 2019, Helen has sat on the steering group of the Liverpool Place Partnership — a private sector collective that works with the public sector to promote investment into the Liverpool City Region. Through that role and Brabners’ sponsorship of the Liverpool City Region investment programme, Helen represents the firm at events such as MIPIM and UKREiiF and has built a strong network of contacts across both the private and public sectors.
Helen’s clients include Jigsaw Homes, Cobalt Housing, Torus62, Castles & Coasts Housing Association, Regenda, Nugent Care, Lancaster City Council and James Hall and Company.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Helen won Legal Personality of the Year 2023 at the Downtown in Business Livercool Awards.
Helen has worked at Brabners for her entire legal career. She initially joined us on a training contract in September 2004 before qualifying as a solicitor in 2006.
Outside of work, Helen is an aspiring golfer, which she finds highly enjoyable and frustrating in equal measure.
She’s based in our Liverpool office.

“Helen Brown is noted for her expertise in regeneration work.”
