Brett has recently been reappointed as the Company Secretary for the RHA (Road Haulage Association). This role has given him experience in delivering corporate governance training and advice to board members of logistics businesses. He has also advised several trade bodies on their standard terms and conditions, including the RHA Conditions of Carriage and those of the Cold Chain Federation. Such deep knowledge provides an advantage when negotiating terms and conditions as well as warehousing and distribution agreements.
In recent years, Brett has worked extensively with insurance brokerages, supporting them through acquisitions and growth strategies. His practical, client-first mindset and relaxed manner help him to quickly build rapport, make clients feel at ease and offer advice that’s both commercially savvy and legally sound.
Away from the office, Brett has rediscovered his passion for rugby, returning to senior-level play after a 12-year break and earning his RFU Level 2 coaching award. He now coaches in the Vale of Lune mini and junior section. When not on the pitch, Brett can often be found building intricate Lego sets, hiking with his family and border collie in the Lake District or exploring Morecambe Bay.
Brett is also active in his local community, serving as a Lancaster City Councillor for the Tourism Ward and as a trustee of the Ripley St Thomas Educational Trust.
