Melanie Mortimer

Melanie is a Residential Conveyancing Executive in our real estate team.

She advises on all aspects of residential conveyancing and has extensive experience supporting a wide range of clients such as Plus Dane Housing, Jigsaw, Great Places and BDW. She began her career in residential conveyancing in 1993, progressing through roles as a Legal Secretary and Paralegal and has managed her own caseload since 2020.

Melanie has specialist experience across residential conveyancing and plot sales, acting for developers, housing associations and shared ownership buyers. She’s also worked with Leeds City Council on right‑to‑buy matters and with various housing associations on right‑to‑acquire transactions.

She's known for offering a highly personal and responsive service. She prefers to work one‑to‑one with clients, taking the time to explain each stage of the process, address concerns and build strong rapport. Her approach centres on accessibility, clarity and ensuring that clients feel supported from instruction to completion.

Before joining us, Melanie worked as a Paralegal in defendant employer and public liability, personal injury and commercial litigation and held roles at several national and regional law firms.

Outside of work, Melanie brings a creative background to her professional life. She previously owned a DJ and entertainment management agency and is also a trained professional dancer.

She joined us in January 2026 and is based in our Leeds office.
