Strategic, pragmatic, creative: how our property litigation lawyers secure the best outcome

Our nationally-recognised team practises solely in property litigation. We don’t only offer deep expertise — we also bring commercial nous and energy. We’ll vigorously defend your interests in a pragmatic, commercially-focused way.

We emphasise proactive resolution and management of litigation risks. We can help you to identify issues before they occur and resolve disputes before they escalate.

We know that our clients value certainty. To minimise the necessity for court proceedings, we’re big proponents of Alternative Dispute Resolution — particularly mediations. These negotiated solutions represent savings of time, cost and stress. However, we’re also highly skilled litigators with access to a carefully-curated network of the country’s finest barristers.

Informed by a deep understanding of each client’s unique case, we’re positioned to secure the best possible outcome while minimising any impact on business and personal relationships.

Nationally-recognised property litigation solicitors

Our award-winning team contains experts who are among the best regarded in the country. It’s led by Andrew Rogers, a ‘Leading Partner’ in The Legal 500 who specialises solely in property litigation. Andrew acts for developers, local authorities, commercial landlords and commercial tenants. He has significant experience in the retail sector and niche expertise in litigation arising from business rates mitigation strategies.

Partner Helena Davies heads up our Manchester-based property litigation team and is also a ‘Leading Partner’ in The Legal 500. She advises on the full range of contentious law work on behalf of landlords, local authorities, developers and private clients, as well as occupiers across the retail sector (which aligns with her role as head of our retail team).

Andrew and Helena are supported by a talented team of legal directors, associates, solicitors and trainees — all of whom are members of the Property Litigation Association.

Wirral Borough Council & Pyramids/Grange shopping centre

We act for Wirral Borough Council on the asset management of the Pyramids/Grange shopping centre in Birkenhead, advising on lease regears, break rights, arrears recovery and more. This work underpins Birkenhead’s regeneration strategy and builds on our longstanding relationship managing litigation and tenancy issues across the council’s wider estate.

T.I.G.C Ltd lease renewal dispute

We represent T.I.G.C Ltd in a complex lease renewal dispute with Liverpool City Council over a Victorian ‘glasshouse’, converted into a wedding venue for £14m by the landlord in 2009. Issues include unpaid arrears, major repair liabilities and a contested rent valuation approach based on turnover rather than market value. Mediation has taken place and litigation is ongoing. The dispute has generated significant press coverage.
