Rob Biddlecombe

Rob is a Partner in our Property team.

Rob is an experienced environmental law specialist and an expert in environmental regulatory issues associated with the built environment, including contaminated land, environmental permits, waste management, water pollution, nuisance, and the control of asbestos. 

He acts for a broad range of clients, including developers, investors, asset managers, manufacturers, retailers, institutional and private lenders, and local authorities

He also regularly advises on environmental and sustainability issues affecting supply chains, including producer responsibility, greenwashing, plastic packaging tax, and chemical regulations.

Rob has a strong background in environmental law and also previously practiced as a commercial development and investment lawyer, providing him with an acute appreciation of the issues affecting clients in the real estate sector. 

He is one of a small handful of lawyers with actual experience of appealing against remediation notices under the contaminated land regime.  He also acted for the appellant in one of only three successful appeals against permit revocation notices issued by the Environment Agency.

He is a member of both the Law Society and the UKELA

He is ranked in the 2023 Legal 500 as both a ‘rising star’ and a ‘next generation partner’. It noted he is an “expert in his field… extremely knowledgeable, always available and very responsive… gives clear, common-sense, practical, pragmatic advice and is expert in dealing with regulatory authorities”. 

Rob joined us in 2023 and is based in our Manchester office.
