Mark is a Partner and the head of our corporate team.

He supports clients across all areas of corporate law including share options, mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs, venture capital, equity capital, collective investment schemes, investment structures, joint ventures and complex commercial arrangements.

Mark acts for local, national and international organisations — as well as individual business owners and shareholders — across many sectors, including manufacturing and supply chainmedia and technology, waste and recycling and hotels and leisure.

With a heavy focus in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, Mark provides much-needed guidance to start-ups and early-stage businesses. He helped to found the tech accelerator Baltic Ventures Limited (for which he remains a non-executive director) as well as the LCR Angel Network (which he continues to actively assist).

Mark has a strong background in non-contentious work and three decades’ worth of experience in handling corporate and commercial transactions. He works closely with other teams and departments both across our business and with other organisations to ensure that a fully integrated approach is delivered on all transactions.

Mark’s clients include Peel Ports Group, Suez Recycling and Recovery UK Ltd, Terminal Investment Limited, the Grosvenor family office and Haydock Commercial Vehicles.

Classed as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ and ‘Leading Individual’ by The Legal 500, Mark joined us in 2001 and now heads up our entire corporate team. He also has overall responsibility for our sector teams and has twice sat as a member of our management board.

He chaired the PSS Care Charity in Merseyside for ten years and is a trustee of the Eleanor Rathbone Charitable Trust.

In his spare time, Mark can usually be found in the Alps or on the water, where he enjoys skiing, biking, sailing, canoeing and walking.
