Tony is our Director of Risk and Compliance and LLP Training Principal.
Tony is an experienced legal consultant and academic who shapes and manages our compliance initiatives, ensuring we meet legal and regulatory obligations and provide a best-in-class legal service to our clients. He sits alongside the firm’s Operational Directors to support the Management Board and wider partnership in managing the firm’s risk and compliance services.
In his role as Director of Risk and Compliance, Tony manages all aspects of professional ethics and risk across the firm, implementing best practice and educating our people on professional and compliance issues.
Tony is also our LLP Training Principal giving him responsibility for all colleague training and development, as well as Trainee Solicitor recruitment, fostering the next generation of talent within our firm.
In addition, Tony serves as our Deputy LLP Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and he focuses on ensuring we deliver the most appropriate outcomes for consumers of legal services.
He is an experienced solicitor who specialises in corporate governance, company law, contract law, legal and medical professional responsibility and ethics as well as risk management.
Tony is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the International Forum on Teaching Legal Ethics and Professionalism as well as the Liverpool Law Society’s Regulatory Committee.
Tony joined us as a Trainee in 1986 and, after leaving to take a university position in 1992, returned as a Director and then Partner in 2001, becoming a Consultant in 2010.
