We Have Launched a New Partnership with the LTA

Thursday 31 October 2019

We are delighted to announce that we have recently been appointed by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), the national governing body for tennis in Britain, to provide legal and tax services to the organisation’s members across the country via a free helpline.

Starting this month, we will provide a free legal and tax advisory helpline to tennis venues, county associations and coaches, adding to the comprehensive package of support that the LTA delivers to the various people and organisations that are working to help grow the sport in Britain.

The service will be available to more than 2,600 LTA registered tennis venues, 38 county associations, nearly 1,000 LTA licensed officials and almost 5,000 LTA accredited coaches. Our expert team will offer advice on governance, contracts, tax, data protection, employment law and property law matters along with disciplinary and safeguarding procedures.

The LTA is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to open up tennis in Britain to many more people and, in partnership with organisations and individuals at a national, regional and local level, it works to govern and grow the sport from grassroots participation through to the professional game.

Commenting Lydia Edgar, head of our Sports sector, said: “We have in-depth experience of the challenges faced by major sporting bodies and how the business of sport continues to grow, so we look forward to bringing our expertise to the table.

“The uptake of innovation and technology is just one of the ways people will change how they play and coach tennis in the future, so it’s vital to stay one step ahead of the game in terms of regulations in this fast-changing sector”.

Speaking on this news Abbie Lench, head of clubs, counties and volunteering at the LTA, noted: “We are committed to growing tennis but we can’t do that on our own.

“The amazing contribution of venues, volunteers, officials and coaches in communities across Britain is vital if we are to achieve our vision and open up the sport to many more people – the provision of this new helpline is a fantastic addition to the package of high quality support we provide to help them do that”.

She added: “Brabners’ Sports team has an impressive reputation within the governance of sport in the UK, and being able to call on their expertise will be a real benefit for our registered venues, county associations, licensed officials and accredited coaches.”
