Meet the Employment Law team: Sarah Day

Sarah is an associate in our Employment team, based in Liverpool. 

She can provide support  on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, and is also an active member of the region's legal community, including Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division, Merseyside Young Professionals, Women Lawyers Merseyside and the Future Boss Club.

How long have you been with Brabners?

I qualified as a Solicitor in April 2018 and joined Brabners shortly after in September 2019.

What’s your specialist area of law, and what drew you to it?

I specialise in Employment Law and provide high level support on a wide range of employment issues. These include defending both Employment Tribunal Claims and Civil Employment Claims; advising on complex grievance and disciplinary matters and other advice such as sickness absence; family leave; redundancy exercises; negotiating exits; settlement agreements. I was drawn to Employment law as it is an area that develops rapidly and has a personal element.

What’s the most satisfying thing in your role?

The most satisfying part of my role is working closely with a client on a matter and securing a positive result at the end.

What are the values that drive you?

Client focus, trust, diversity and inclusion.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I love picking a rural walking route and spending the day walking with my partner and our red cockerpoo called Clancy followed by a cosy pub lunch with a log fire (and a glass of red wine).
