Commercial legal practice Brabners has been appointed to the legal panel of one of the UK’s largest housing associations in a three-year deal.

Riverside, headquartered in Liverpool, manages more than 50,000 homes nationwide across 160 local authorities. Brabners will advise on a number of core areas including property and development, governance, commercial, employment and housing management.

In our latest video you can see Head of Housing & Regeneration, Alistair Fletcher talk about what makes Brabners the go-to Housing firm in the North West.

At Brabners we have a long history of working with housing associations, public authorities, charities and not for profit organisations which means that our team of highly skilled housing solicitors has the wealth of very practical experience in the sector.

Crisis, the national charity for homeless people, has received a £3,000 donation from the organisers of the North West Housing Conference, accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth and law firm Brabners.

Crisis helps thousands of homeless people rebuild their lives through housing, health, education and employment services. It offers support, advice and classes in 12 locations across the UK, including a Skylight centre in Merseyside.

Catherine Fearon, Associate in Brabners in Liverpool comments on the success that the team has had in court with Liverpool Mutual Homes:

Last week, Brabners and Mitchell Charlesworth brought together experts from across the housing sector with more than 140 delegates as they debated the key issues facing the industry at the North West Housing Conference.

With representatives from housing and data consultancy arc4, the National Housing Federation, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, South Liverpool Homes and Crisis UK all speaking at the event, delegates discussed issues from home ownership to how to solve the housing crisis.

As we prepare to welcome delegates to the North West Housing Conference next month, 4 November at the BT Convention centre in Liverpool, the issue of ownership hits headlines again for the future of the housing sector.

North West businesses will have the opportunity to hear the expert views of some of the leading figures from the housing sector on the wide-ranging changes being faced by social housing providers when the annual North West Housing Conference returns to Liverpool in November.

The conference, now in its fourteenth year will be hosted by Brabners and Mitchell Charlesworth, both leading advisors to the social housing sector with support from a project group made up of Liverpool Mutual Homes, Regenda, ForViva, Symphony Housing Group and South Liverpool Homes.

House of Memories, National Museums Liverpool’s dementia awareness programme, which supports carers of people living with dementia, has received a £4,000 donation from the organisers of the North West Housing Conference, commercial law firm Brabners and accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth.

House of Memories is an award-winning training programme, which was founded in 2012 to support both professional and family carers, and provide people with the skills needed to help facilitate a positive quality of life experience for those living with dementia.

The North West Housing Conference returns to Liverpool on Friday 4 November 2016.

Commercial law firm Brabners and accountants Mitchell Charlesworth, leading advisors to the social housing sector, are presenting the conference at Liverpool's BT Convention Centre, with financial and strategic support from a project group made up of Liverpool Mutual Homes, The Regenda Group, Symphony Housing Group, ForViva and SLH Group.

Commercial law firm Brabners has expanded its housing & regeneration team with the appointment of Peter Barlow as Partner.

A skilled property lawyer, Peter will be spearheading the housing and regeneration team in Manchester. He was previously a senior equity partner at Hill Dickinson for more than 20 years.
