Brabners, the independent legal practice, has appointed experienced senior business executive Robert White as its new chief executive officer to work alongside new managing partner, Nik White.

Robert has more than 25 years’ experience in senior roles across a range of sectors and succeeds Janet Pickavance, who is leaving the firm after 30 years.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is new legislation which will come into force in the UK on 25 May 2018, and will replace the UK’s current data protection regime in its entirety. The GDPR will implement a comprehensive new data protection regime in the UK which governs how ‘personal data’ must be handled and stored by ‘data controllers’ and ‘data processors’ (along with new, more substantial penalties for non-compliance in respect thereof).

St Ann’s Hospice has appointed commercial law firm Brabners to provide business advice and support to its Greater Manchester-based team.

Following a competitive tender process, the North West law firm was chosen to support the charity with a range of specialist advice, including charity and employment law, property, wills and probate, and commercial contracts.

Manchester United star Michael Carrick’s charitable foundation has named commercial law firm Brabners as its sole legal adviser.

Michael Carrick Foundation has been created as part of the midfielder’s testimonial, which celebrates his 11 years as a player at the club. It includes a match between Manchester United’s 2008 Champions League winning XI and an All-Stars team at Old Trafford on Sunday 4th June.
