Graeme's expertise

Graeme advises on all aspects of charity law, in particular, the establishment and management of charities, the incorporation of unincorporated charitable trusts and associations, compliance and administrative matters, governance issues including amendments to charities’ governing documents and charity mergers, restructures and reorganisations.

In addition, Graeme regularly advises on fundraising matters including corporate partnerships, grants and funding contracts, the operation of society lotteries and trading by charities and their subsidiaries. Graeme also advises on dealings with the Charity Commission, including statutory inquiries and on trustee/membership disputes within charities.

Graeme is an Associate in our Charities Department. He acts for charities of all sizes, operating both domestically and overseas. Clients include; museums and galleries; research organisations; grant making foundations; sports clubs; hospices and other care providers; schools, further and higher education institutions; registered providers of social housing; environmental organisations; religious charities including churches, mosques, temples and other places of worship; youth and community centres; think tanks;  and many more.

Graeme regularly speaks on legal matters affecting charities and delivers training courses for both charity trustees and staff.
