We advise both rights holders and sponsors on all sponsorship/partnership issues and have advised on deals with a combined value of more than £2 billion in recent years. This represents an array of individual deals representing entities across the sports industry, including: governing bodies; international federations; player associations; clubs; teams and individual sportspersons; event organisers; and sponsors from a wide variety of sectors.  We have worked on sponsorship deals in over 30 product categories for national and international clients. We advised two of the first three Tier One sponsors on their landmark London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games deals and advised on the first sponsorship deal for Rio 2016. Our work in this area includes advising on:

  • Sponsorship arrangements between brands and clubs/teams and/or brands and individual players/athletes
  • Endorsements deals
  • Brand ambassador arrangements
  • Naming rights arrangements (of stadia and other venues, training grounds and stands)
  • Structuring and implementation of marketing programmes including rights audits and analysis
  • Supply of goods and/or services, including technical partner kit and equipment supply and “day to day” arrangements such as in relation to catering and IT contracts
