Consumer Credit Claims

Consumer Credit Claims

The regulatory consumer credit framework is a complex area of law encompassing both the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and certain provisions in the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (CCA), as well as other legislation, rules and guidance.

As further changes in the law come into force, and regulation transfers to the Financial Conduct Authority, it is important to take specialist advice on all claims that involve a consumer credit element.  That is particularly the case when seeking to enforce an agreement that is subject to consumer credit legislation and regulation.

The dispute resolution team at Brabners have a wide range of experience of dealing with consumer credit claims, acting for both claimants and defendants, as well as for other parties such as credit brokers and intermediaries.

We also provide advice on the drafting of consumer credit documents to ensure compliance with the latest changes and requirements.
