International charity issues

International charity issues

Many of our charity clients operate overseas. Activities carried out abroad can include the establishment and operation of orphanages and schools in less developed areas of the world as well as the provision of aid and other forms of relief. In addition to this, many large charities deliver their services in overseas jurisdictions including Australia, the United States and throughout mainland Europe.

We also act for a large number of individuals who whilst domiciled in different jurisdictions act as charity trustees of organisations registered in England and Wales or have a desire to establish new charities in the UK.

It is also increasingly common for voluntary organisations to raise and apply funds in the wake of international disasters and social media has meant that charities are able to mobilise fundraising efforts without delay.

Our Charity Law solicitors can advise your charity trustees on a wide range of international charity issues. We have relationships with specialist advisors in other jurisdictions and we can tap into this resource if necessary.
