Charity administration services

Charity administration services

In addition to our Charities Secretarial Services, we can also provide a more extensive service providing key administrative support to your charity.

This service is tailored to your charity’s particular needs and can range from receiving and vetting applications for funding to administering a large and internationally spread membership body. An example of how our Charity Administration Service is set out in the case study below.

Case study: The Fisheries Society of the British Isles

The Fisheries Society of the British Isles (“FSBI”) is an international, non-political, learned society, based in the United Kingdom that supports scientific activity in fish biology and management.

FSBI has a substantial body of members and invites applications from its members for funding to support specific areas of study and research in, or connected with, fish biology and fisheries management, including the provision of travel bursaries, PhD studentships, small research grants and sponsorship.

In addition to this, FSBI disseminates research and technical information through its journal, the Journal of Fish Biology, and by other means including at its annual conferences.

Through our Charity Administration Service, we maintain and administer FSBI’s extensive membership database and work with other agencies in order to ensure that information is properly circulated. We also deal with a wide range of membership enquiries that are left on a dedicated voicemail service based in our office.

We also receive applications for funding from members and conduct an initial sift of all applications received removing those that are ineligible and requesting further information where necessary. We then provide the charity trustees with a complete set of eligible applications for their consideration.

Our Charity Administration Service is provided by ex-Charity Commission staff familiar with the issues affecting and the needs of charities. The service is bespoke and can be tailored to meet your needs. Full details will be discussed and agreed with you.
