Shareholder activism sees sales boom in shareholder website

Shareholder activism sees sales boom in shareholder website

Monday 20th August 2012

Traffic and visitor numbers to a specialist shareholder rights website have hit record numbers amid recently publicised shareholder revolts.

www.shareholderrights.co.uk has seen a spike in the visitor numbers following shareholder revolts that have forced the resignations of Andrew Moss, Aviva CEO, David Brennan, AstraZeneca CEO and Sly Bailey, Trinity Mirror CEO.

Across the country, shareholders have shown their displeasure at bonus and pay packages recommended by directors. “We generally record something in the low thousands of visitors each month, but our visitor numbers have almost doubled in recent weeks”, says Paul Lunt, website editor and Partner in law firm, Brabners Chaffe Street.

He continues: “The full extent of powers and rights available to shareholders is something of a well kept secret but it seems that the publicity surrounding recent high profile shareholders meetings has raised awareness in just what rights shareholders have.”

The site contains details of the powers given to shareholders under company legislation and guidance for unhappy shareholders on how to exercise their rights.

www.shareholderrights.co.uk is a specialist website providing information and guidance for shareholders about their rights and powers under company law.
