Brabners has entered Recruitment International’s Supplier Awards 2017.

Its nationally-recognised team has more than 25 years’ experience of advising recruitment agencies and other industry players, and its experts regularly advise on issues from the employment status of temporary workers to the application of the Agency Workers’ Regulations 2010.

TEAM (The Employment Agents Movement) has reappointed leading law firm Brabners as Principal Legal Advisor.

TEAM is the largest network of independent recruiters in the UK with currently over 500 locations. Brabners has a well-established relationship with TEAM; in addition to being the network’s Principal Legal Advisor for a further two years, the firm is regional advisor to the Midlands, North West, North East and South West England.

The Association of Labour Providers (ALP) and leading law firm Brabners Chaffe Street have joined forces to hostspecialist workshops on “Preventing and Preparing for Employment Tribunals”.

Designed for HR and operational managers, the workshops have been developed to help delegates prevent cases reaching employment tribunal, prepare and present a case successfully, and adopt the correct strategy to limit the costs and protect reputation.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation(REC) invited Paul Chamberlain, Partner and head of Employment law at Brabners Chaffe Street’s Manchester office, to join the judging panel of this year’s prestigious Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) Awards.

Paul was part of a judging panel of fifteen, who represented a high-profile cross-section of individuals from the employment and recruitment sectors.

Despite years of discussion and the eventual implementation of the Agency Workers' Regulations (AWR), increased employment costs and a reduction in the use of agency workers, almost 60% of temporary workers have received little or no change in their remuneration and just over 60% of agencies feel their experience of the legislation has been negative.

TEAM (The Employment Agents Movement) has announced a review of how its members and clients access employment law advice and have appointed five law firms to service the 400 plus strong membership.

Brabners Chaffe Street continue their longstanding relationship with TEAM and have been reappointed as TEAM Principal Legal Advisors, plus regional advisors for the Midlands, South West and East England.

The Association of Labour Providers (ALP) and leading law firm Brabners Chaffe Street have joined forces to launch a series of specialist workshops outlining the provisions and practical ramifications of employing agency workers on a “Swedish Derogation” contract.

In what promises to be an interesting subject in light of the current economic environment, The Recruitment Society is holding an event in Manchester to advise businesses on how to recruit successfully in today's market.

Entitled ‘From Psychology to Technology', the seminar will look at four ways a business can save time and money when recruiting.

Speaking at the event will be:

• Rachael Minnis, Head of Operations - Resourcing, Learning & International from M&S Shared Services - Britain's flagship retailer.
