Brabners Chaffe Street’s divorce and family law expert Helen Marriott is the first solicitor to qualify as a family law arbitrator in the Liverpool legal sector.

Helen, a Partner and head of the family law team at Brabners Chaffe Street, is one of only approximately 150 lawyers in England and Wales to have qualified as a family law arbitrator under the new scheme introduced last year.  To qualify Helen was required to undertake rigorous training and assessment and can now become a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration.

The Court of Appeal has just heard arguments on whether inherited business assets should be ring fenced when making divorce awards. The case involving Mr and Mrs Davies was reported on 11December 2012.
