Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised insurance broker Doodson Broking Group on its sale to US broker Integro for an undisclosed sum.

Entertainment, live events and sports specialist Doodson was established in 1964 and has offices in Hazel Grove, London and Halifax, as well as Austin, Texas.  In addition to clients in the entertainment, live event and sports sectors in the UK and US, the firm works with large corporate entities and high net worth private clients in the UK.

Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised the owners of Bolton-based manufacturer Ascot Doors Limited on its sale to German group DORMA for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1983, Ascot Doors manufactures and installs doors and shutters for the retail, industrial and commercial sectors. The company, whose installations include Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium, employs 225 people at its Bolton headquarters and 11 depots across the country.

Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised AIM listed Jaywing plc on the sale of its e-commerce unit, Tryzens Limited, for a transaction value of £6 million.

Jaywing, a UK-based digital communications company, said that as a result of the disposal it had paid off its bank debt and strengthened its balance sheet, which will allow it to consider investments in areas of greater strategic interest.

The transaction was a management buyout funded by Scottish Equity Partners.

Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised Shellproof plc on the acquisition of the Gusbourne Estate English sparkling wine business for £7 million announced today.

 The deal is funded by a £2.85 million placing, £2 million of Barclays Bank debt and existing cash reserves and constitutes a reverse takeover of Shellproof.  Shellproof plc will be re-named Gusbourne plc as part of the deal.

North West law firm Brabners has made up one Partner, eight Senior Associates and three Associates in its annual round of promotions.

Property law expert Matthew O’Brien has been promoted to Partner. Matthew has been with Brabners since 2003 when he joined the firm as a trainee. Matthew acts for a range of investors, landlords and tenants from across the commercial property sector and specialises in transactions in the industrial and logistics sector.

Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised Pamarco Technologies LLC on the acquisition of Absolute Engineering Limited for an undisclosed sum.

Pamarco Technologies manufactures and distributes components for the printing industry. For over sixty years, Pamarco Technologies’ anilox and rubber rollers have been performing in printing presses all over the world. The US-based company has its European office in Warrington, Cheshire.

Leading law firm Brabners has been named as the most active legal advisor by deal volume in the North West in the first six months of 2013.

The Experian Corpfin Deal Review, which details advisor league tables, records the corporate team at Brabners advised on 21 transactions in the North West – ranking it first based on the number of deals done. Brabners also advised on an additional 10 corporate deals elsewhere in the UK, ranking it fifth in the country.

Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised Bristow Helicopters Limited on its sale of 50% of FB Heliservices Limited to Cobham plc for £74 million announced today.

Bristow is the leading provider of helicopter services to the worldwide offshore energy industry in addition to providing search and rescue services in various countries across the world. Earlier this year it was awarded a 10-year contract to run the UK Search and Rescue helicopter service from 2015.

Leading North West law firm Brabners has advised Better Bathrooms on a £10m investment deal from the Business Growth Fund (BGF).

Better Bathrooms, the Lancashire-based company founded in 2001 by Colin Stevens, has a significant online presence and three showrooms in Wigan, Warrington and Manchester. Mr. Stevens plans to create 500 jobs over the next five years, following the investment.

BGF has taken a minority stake in Better Bathrooms and introduced Paul Gilbert, the former finance director of Matalan, who has joined the company as non-executive chairman.
