Brabners Bolsters IP Team with Dual Hire

Brabners Bolsters IP Team with Dual Hire

Thursday 7th December 2017

Commercial law firm Brabners has appointed two specialist intellectual property professionals from Hill Dickinson.

Associate Hannah Fawcett is a dual-qualified intellectual property solicitor and chartered trade mark attorney with more than 10 years’ experience. She headed up the intellectual property and trade mark team at Hill Dickinson in Liverpool and has significant experience supporting clients across the retail, leisure and sports sectors.

She advises on non-contentious matters including UK, European and international trade mark registration applications, intellectual property licensing and due diligence examinations. She also acts on contentious matters such as intellectual property infringement disputes, domain name disputes and website content disputes.

Hannah joins the firm alongside trade mark and patent administrator Amy Pilkington. With three years’ experience, Amy supports the preparation and prosecution of UK, European and international trade mark and design applications. She also manages all renewals, records and maintenance actions related to trade mark registrations, design registrations and patents.

Hannah said: “Intellectual property is often one of the most valuable assets a business will own and it’s crucial this is protected. While I work with clients across a range of sectors, the importance of providing advice that both protects a client’s rights and supports their commercial objectives is always constant. With its enviable reputation for the quality of its work and the breadth of its client base, Brabners provides a great fit for my team and I’m looking forward to working together as we expand our service offering.”

Nik White, head of commercial / IP at Brabners, added: “We’re focused on recruiting the best and brightest talent so we can continue to provide the highest quality service to clients and continue to build strong foundations for the future growth of our business. With a strong reputation for client service and a career spent carving out a specialist IP practice focused on quality, commercial advice, Hannah and Amy bring just that.”

Colin Bell, who leads the IP team at Brabners, notes: “This latest addition sees our team cement its position as one of the, if not the, pre-eminent intellectual property practices in the North West.

The appointments will boost our already growing national and international client base as well as enabling us to offer even greater resource to the businesses we work with.”

The addition is the latest in a string of hires for Brabners’ Commercial / IP team. It follows the appointment of associate Victoria Trigwell and intellectual property and trade mark administrator Ioana Ghiurco in March 2017, solicitor Jack Roberts in September 2017, and the promotion of Hayley Morgan as the firm’s first chartered trade mark attorney in October 2016.

Brabners’ 18-strong commercial and intellectual property practice is now one of the largest in the North West and ranked tier one by Legal 500 for its intellectual property work.
