Brabners advises Hull KR on player dispute

Monday 13th February 2017

The sports team at commercial law firm Brabners have advised Hull KR on an agreement with player Iain Thornley and his new club, Catalans Dragons.

Iain Thornley left Hull KR in October 2016 without serving appropriate notice and signed with Catalans Dragons. A dispute regarding compensation and the transfer of the players registration ensued.

A brief statement released by the club said:

The club can confirm that they have received satisfactory proposals to enable Iain Thornley to be released to the Catalans Dragons with immediate effect.

Our thanks go to lawyer Lydia Edgar of Brabners Solicitors for facilitating this agreement with the Dragons.

Chairman Neil Hudgell commented: "I'm satisfied with the end result, and as far as I'm concerned the matter is now closed."
