Brabners & Freshwalks City...With you every step of the way

Brabners & Freshwalks City...With you every step of the way

Wednesday 15th March 2017

We’re very excited to reveal our brand new partnership with Freshwalks City at MediaCity UK.

For those of you who don’t know, Freshwalks is the walking event that has been successfully connecting and revitalising business people through challenging Peak District hikes for the past couple of years. Its rising popularity – with over 500 registered walkers – led to the creation of a sister event earlier this year.

Freshwalks City is an express urban version of the main walk, designed to fit snugly inside (well, maybe a little bit around!) your lunch hour. The idea being to ensure you get away from your desk to make some new business contacts whilst stretching your legs and learning about local history – woven nicely into these particular walks by a dedicated tour guide.

Several of Brabners’ lawyers have been regular Freshwalks participants over the past couple of years, taking on some of the toughest hill walks and cementing themselves into the North West business fabric. The opportunity to partner with such an innovative event like Freshwalks City seemed a natural choice for several reasons, especially at MediaCity UK where the quays provide a perfect walking backdrop.

  • Brabners is 100% committed to supporting the thriving local digital media and technology economy with best in class legal advice. By physically investing our time at MediaCity UK we want its entrepreneurs to know we plan to be there for them every step of the way.

  • We want to ensure that both our clients and our own lawyers are performing to the absolute maximum of their capabilities. The physical health benefits of walking are well documented but as if this isn’t enough it also enhances mental, spiritual and professional wellbeing. The likes of Zuckerberg, Jobs and Dorsey swear by walking meetings for reasons of creativity alone. Even the sharpest of minds need time to unwind and realign thoughts.

  • Our solicitors also want to tune into the broader commercial landscape, both at MediaCity UK and further afield. Only through listening to entrepreneurs and truly understanding their challenges (from seeking investment through to the skills agenda) can our specialist legal minds offer the soundest of commercial advice, adding serious value to the bottom line.

Jacob O’Brien, commercial and intellectual property solicitor at Brabners, said:

“Many of the Brabners team have really enjoyed our Freshwalks forays into the hills over the past year or two. It’s kept us fit and helped us meet so many wonderful entrepreneurs looking for support and advice. We are now delighted to support Freshwalks City and put our people closer to the tech business community at MediaCity and around Manchester; forging relationships well beyond the boardroom. We hope to see many of our clients benefiting from the physical exercise and business networking opportunity – conveniently packaged inside a lunch hour.”

How to get involved

The next walk starts at 1pm on Wednesday 22 March and April’s date will be announced soon. Everyone is welcome on Freshwalks City and tickets for this next event can be bought here. We look forward to seeing you there.
